From its humble beginnings over 75 years ago, Joe Patti’s has grown into a bustling, bay-front icon that ranked #3 on Coastal Living’s list of Top Ten Seafood Markets in the country. Inside the market, you’ll find a sprawling raw seafood counter that stretches 126 feet in length and displays freshly-caught selections of fish such as flounder, grouper, snapper, swordfish, tuna, mahi mahi, and salmon, along with shrimp, oysters, squid, clams, scallops, and much more. It all started when Anna and Joe Patti began selling fresh fish from their front porch on Devilliers Street in Pensacola in the early 1930s. Captain Joe’s philosophy was to build trust and create “happy regulars,” by only selling the highest quality fish at a fair price.

Between the 1960s and early 1990s, Joe Patti’s refrigerated trucks provided seafood for restaurants along the Florida and Alabama Gulf Coast. By the late ‘90s, Joe Patti’s turned their focus to retail operations and expanded their store and online shipping operations. Today, the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Capt. Joe Patti work in the store, sharing their family’s philosophy of excellent quality and service with more than 100 employees.

The market also has a limited-seating area where they roll some of the freshest sushi in town. It’s a popular local lunch spot - or get your sushi to go!
